Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a speaker as a consultant, columnist syndicated, speaker, author, and TV personality. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the brokerage to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she left the company. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank to date. Since February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals on the show, with the most significant one being $350,000 for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence was her mother, who was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied on free food delivery from a local grocery store. Corcoran states her father was a drunk who did her mother a disservice and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran was a troubled student throughout school. Later, she discovered she was dyslexic. Corcoran began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite not completing several classes in her first year of high school.
